Great adapter that works for the Vader 4 Pro on PS5

This adapter is great, and works with the Flydigi Vader 4 Pro in both wired and wireless mode on PS5. There is some trouble with the first wireless connection each time the console is booted up, but switching the controller input mode to something else, then back to dongle solves the issue. These were all known issues to me at the time of purchase, but I had to dock a star due to the loose fitment of the adapter. The male USB side of the adapter sits very loosely in the ports of the PS5, and the adapter has lots of wiggle room which worries me some about longevity of use.

Make sure you update the firmware before using

I'm not too happy with Brook releasing this after I purchased the Wingman FGC since it makes the Wingman FGC obsolete but I'm happy that I can use my custom dual analog controller on my PS5. As the title states, make sure to update the firmware before you use this. You will need a computer with an internet connection (preferably a Windows PC). You do so by holding down both LED buttons on the side of the dongle while plugging it into the controller. Then, download the firmware updater and make sure the firmware number is newer than the existing firmware. Once updated, the converter works perfectly with all PS5 games. I played Stellar Blade for a few minutes and quickly realized that I need more time to get acclimated to my controller.

Controller Freedom for PS5

This adapter works! It can get a little finicky reconnecting when you power down or put to sleep the PS5, but it works.FIRST, Go to the official website and do the firmware update on your PC, otherwise the PS5 will think its a Dualsense without the latest firmware, and won’t stay connected.SECOND, change your communication method in the PS5 settings to “USB connection”. Bluetooth will still work, it just allows for data input by USB as well, which helps with compatibility.I saw another review say the dongle won’t work in the front port of launch models. NOT TRUE. You may just need to double check your set up. It will work in all USB-A ports. It primarily works wired, BUT if your controller has a wireless dongle, you can connect the dongle into the FGC2 USB port and it should work. It will only support only one controller at a time, because of this. You may need to turn your controller on and off once while it’s connected to get the PS5 to recognize it.I haven’t tested with an Xbox Wireless Adapter that could support 4 from itself. Test at your own risk.

works perfectly on PS5

Have been searching for a solutuon to using the PS4 controller on PS5 games for years and this seems to be the first viable option. Plug and play no messing about u need a charging wire as it doesn't support wireless but easy to get a long one. Within minutes was playing demon souls with a dual shock 4 controller and it was perfect. Only had one day will update if any issues but so far its ideal.

Finally!

Where to begin? This product I thought would never make it to us. I have been a huge fan of Brook gaming products ever since I discovered their product when I was playing on the PS4 and wanted to use my Elite V1 Xbox controller for the paddles and elevate my gaming. I got their adapter back then that worked flawlessly and thought I would never look back. When the PS5 released, that adapter worked on the console... recognizing the controller as a PS4 controller. Which meant that it wouldn't work when playing any PS5 game. Finally, that issue is no more. This adapter recognizes virtually any controller plugged into it as a DualSense controller. The only gripe and the reason for the 4* is because it advertises on their website that it works simply by plugging it into the USB port on the front of the console. Well, obviously that didn't think about the very first generation of PS5 consoles (I have had mine since launch day 2020.) It will NOT work on the front USB port of your console if you have owned it since launch day. I nearly tore my hair out trying to understand why it wouldn't work when another fellow reviewer here mentioned in his review that it would only work on one of the USB ports in the back of the unit. In desperation, I plugged it into the back and voila! It works! I'm a little frustrated but I can let that go. I finally have access to the Elite V2 controller in all of its glory on my PS5. Excellent!
