I am a professional photographer and I work off of this SSD with an M1 Pro Macbook Pro. Historically I have used the Samsung T5 or T7 and they have always been solid, reliable performers. I purchased this Sandisk 4TB on a good sale 2 years ago and I edit+work off this drive fairly often. Overall it does get the job done and transfer speeds are decent. Only constant quirk I keep running into is that every time I plug this SSD in, it takes maybe a minute or two to actually be able to access the files. I'm not sure if it's a hardware thing or a software thing but it's so strange. My laptop and other laptops will detect the drive and allow me to see the folders inside, but as soon as I want to actually open files or write anything to it, it stalls for a full minute before resuming regular operation. So now, I plug this in and wait a few minutes before even trying to do anything. Definitely gives me some doubts about the quality and longevity of this product...but so far it's still working so I back it up to a second drive often... That being said, my experience has been enough to push me back towards the Samsung T7 drives as they have never misbehaved and I appreciate their metal casing for quicker thermal cooling.
