Makes a massive difference in speed when reading back Sandisk brand Extreme cards. Definitely recommend.
With this price tag, I expected better from a SanDisk product. The SDDR-C53 UHS-I Card Reader was a letdown. The build feels flimsy, and inserting an SD card is surprisingly difficult. I used it with a SanDisk ExtremePRO 64GB card, and both inserting and removing the card felt awkward and overly tight.
Compared to my laptop’s built-in SD card reader, this just feels poorly designed. It might work, but the user experience is frustrating enough that I don’t see myself using it again. Disappointing from a brand like SanDisk.
This product states up to 170 mb/sec when used with compatible devices. I tested with sandisk extreme uhs-1 u3 card. It achieved 168 read.
Only got 90 mb with other brands. Hate how these companies employ proprietary tech to get max benefit. Sd cards ratings, u3 v90 c10 a2 etc are already confusing but now you have to pair that with a corresponding card reader to get advertised performance.
Super easy to use, just slide the card into the slot in the reader, insert the reader into a USB slot, and you're done. Others mentioned that the card was hard to insert and remove - I didn't find it difficult at all.
Convenient and easy to use. No cords!
